Repurpose a Post

Turn a post you already wrote into native versions for your other channels, importing it from a URL, your recent Facebook Page posts, or the Content Library.

Repurpose is a mode of the New campaign composer. Normally the text you write is a brief, and each channel gets a new piece based on it. With Repurpose on, the text is a finished post, and every channel you select gets an adaptation of that exact post.

The pieces keep the original's story, tone, numbers, names, and links, and rebuild only the hook, structure, and length for each channel. The AI is told not to add facts that are not in the source, and not to mention where the post came from.

Turn On Repurpose

  1. Open New campaign (for example with the New campaign button in the Library).
  2. Click the Repurpose switch in the composer header. You can also pick Repurpose a post under Source in the composer's + menu.
  3. In the Repurposing from dropdown, choose the channel the post was written for.

The dropdown lists every channel, not only connected ones, since the original may live somewhere 1MarketingTool never publishes to.

Bring In the Post

Whichever way you use, the text lands in the composer, where you can edit it before generating.

Paste it

Paste the post into the composer. The placeholder reads "Paste the post you already wrote — it becomes the source every selected channel is adapted from." Attach its images yourself with + → Attach media files, or drag them onto the composer.

Load posts (Facebook Pages)

When Repurposing from is Facebook, Load posts opens a Recent Facebook posts list. Each entry shows the Page name, date, image count, and the start of the text.

Click a post to use it. Its text fills the composer and its images download in the background as campaign media.

  • The list uses the same Facebook Page mapping as publishing. If the active project is mapped to specific Pages, their posts are listed. If it is not, the first Page on the connected account is used.
  • Facebook must be connected first. See Facebook Page.
  • For any other source channel, Load posts stays disabled. Its tooltip points you to From URL or pasting the text.

From URL

Click From URL in the Repurpose panel, paste a link to a public post or article, and click Fetch (or press Enter). The app downloads the page, extracts the readable text, and downloads up to four of its images into the campaign media, starting with the page's lead image.

  • Facebook post URLs are read as the post itself, without the surrounding page and comment thread. Reel videos can come along as media.
  • If the page returns an error, has no readable text, or is a private Facebook post, you get a message telling you to paste the text instead (or, for Facebook, to use Load posts).
  • A failed image download never blocks the text import.

The From URL button in the composer header, next to the switch, is a separate tool. It pastes web page content into an ordinary brief and is available whether or not Repurpose is on.

Choose Target Channels and Generate

  1. Under Social posts, select the channels the post should go to. If you picked the source channel manually, deselect it so you don't regenerate the post you started from.
  2. Set languages, the AI CLI, and any per-channel options as usual.
  3. Click Generate campaign.

Each selected channel gets its own piece in one pass, saved to the active project's Content Library like any other campaign.

Adding channels to the finished campaign, or regenerating its channels, reuses the same source post and source channel, so later pieces match the first ones. Campaign drafts save the switch, the source channel, and imported media.

Repurpose From the Content Library

  1. Open Library and switch to All pieces. The action appears on individual piece rows, not on grouped campaign rows.
  2. Click the recycle icon (Repurpose into other channels) in the piece's status column.

New campaign opens with Repurpose on and the piece's text as the source. If the piece belongs to another project, the app switches to that project first. When the app can tell which channel the piece was written for, that channel becomes the source and is removed from the targets. Only the text is carried over. Attach images again if the new pieces need them.

Notes

  • Local AI agents can use repurpose mode too. The campaign generation tool exposed over MCP accepts a repurpose source mode and the original channel. See MCP Integrations.
  • To turn new posts into campaigns automatically as they appear, use Pipelines in the Content Machine sidebar group.
