How many URLs can one XML sitemap contain?
A single sitemap can contain up to 50,000 URLs and must be under 50MB uncompressed. Larger sites should use a sitemap index.
Should sitemap URLs be HTTPS?
Yes. If your canonical site is HTTPS, your sitemap loc values should use HTTPS canonical URLs.
Does this fetch child sitemaps from an index?
No. It validates the submitted file and previews the child sitemap URLs. Test each child sitemap separately for deeper validation.
