What is a URL slug?
A URL slug is the human-readable part of a URL that identifies a specific page — for example, the "seo-slug-generator" portion of /tools/seo-slug-generator. It replaces spaces and special characters with hyphens (or another separator) and converts everything to lowercase.
Should I use hyphens or underscores in URLs?
Google officially recommends hyphens as word separators in URLs. Underscores are treated as connectors, meaning "seo_tips" is read as one word rather than two separate words.
Should I remove stop words from my slug?
