Channel Setup Guide

Connect publishing channels, choose the right auth flow, and understand the current platform caveats.

1MarketingTool connects channels from the Channels view. Open the app, go to Distribution -> Channels, expand a channel, paste the required values, save, then use Test or Send test post before scheduling production content.

Secrets are stored through the operating system keychain. OAuth tokens, API keys, webhook URLs, app passwords, and client secrets stay on your machine unless the channel explicitly uses the 1MarketingTool relay.

ModelWhat you doChannels

Media Rules

  • Pinterest requires an image or video. Video Pins also need a cover image.
  • YouTube requires a video file. Shorts are detected by YouTube when the video is vertical or square and 3 minutes or less.
  • TikTok requires a video file and sends it to your TikTok inbox or drafts; finish posting in the TikTok app.
  • Instagram requires media and an Instagram Professional account (Instagram login — no linked Facebook Page needed).
  • Slack, WordPress, Ghost, Dev.to, Hashnode, Medium, Threads, and Custom API do not upload attached media in the current publisher path.

Current Caveats

Reddit and LinkedIn Page publishing are reserved but not available in the current build. Facebook Page and Instagram use your own Meta app; Development mode works for Pages and Instagram accounts you administer. Pinterest production posting requires Standard access approval. Unverified Google apps can require reconnecting YouTube after roughly 7 days and may keep uploads private until verification is complete.
